Stunning African waist beads.
I found these beautiful pieces at an Amsterdam flea market.
The artisan himself was an expat from Ghana, Africa. He very clearly took great pride in the waist beads he made. I literally wanted to bring home one of all of the ones he had, but due to space, I collected three of my favorite in his collection.
These are Beautiful and high quality stones. If you know waist beads, you know they are not all created equal. I personally wear only the very best stones, so I brought this one home for one very blessed soul.
I absolutely love the rich culture and symbolism of African waist beads:
Feminine Energy and Sexuality
Waist beads are associated with femininity, sensuality, and beauty. They celebrate a woman’s body, enhancing self-awareness and body positivity.
Spiritual Protection
Waist beads carry spiritual significance, often being infused with prayers or charms for protection, fertility, or guidance. They are often seen as a form of amulet to ward off negative energy.
Body Awareness and Fitness
Many women wear waist beads to track weight changes. Since the beads sit snugly on the waist, they can signify weight loss or gain depending on how they fit.
People who know me know I wear several waist beads, they mean everything to me.
I’m including instructions on how to easily secure them on you with this purchase.
Enjoy!
